Our company is looking for a Speciality Doctor to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity to be involved in clinical governance standards and monitoring for the delivery of the service;
  • Provide day-to-day medical input on the units under the supervision of the relevant Consultant;
  • Acting as Specialty doctor for service users detained under the Mental Health Act;
  • Ensuring effective liaison with the referrals team to enable you to review referrals and determine appropriateness for admissions;
  • Thorough assessment of individuals needs throughout admission;
  • A range of interventions available from a diverse MDT;
  • Person centred collaborative treatment plans;
  • Work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrists and the large multi-disciplinary team and be committed to providing quality patient focussed care;
  • Developing protocols as required meeting standard in both psychological and pharmacological interventions;
  • Supervising and directing the work of other staff who support treatment of service users;
  • Being cared for in the least restrictive environment;
  • Conducting admissions assessments, risk assessments, reviews and ensuring effective management plans for all service users within the unit;
  • Comprehensive risk assessment and mental state examinations and competent physical health examinations and management;
  • Facilitating regular CPA review meetings.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Psychiatry;
  • Experience working as a doctor within brain injury/ learning disability/ deafness services;
  • To have had an appraisal/RITA within the last year;
  • MRCPsych;
  • Good team player who must be keen to participate in a multidisciplinary approach to assessment, formulation and management plans;
  • Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Experience of working in inpatient settings of people with significant mental health difficulties;
  • To be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists;
  • AC status;
  • Full GMC registration;
  • Section 12 (2) approval.
