HGV Technician – Nights Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a HGV Technician – Nights to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing faults;
- Carrying out service, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of vehicles;
- Carrying out inspections;
- Ensuring health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to;
- Diagnose and rectify all types of faults;
- Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles & trailers to VOSA standard;
- Liaise with parts department to attain parts;
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses;
- Ensure appropriate clocking is made, all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a larger team as well as on their own initiative;
- Obtained a City & Guilds or other adequate qualification;
- Full and current UK driving licence, an LGV licence is preferred but not essential;
- Undertaken manufacturers training courses and maintained knowledge of work methods and technical data;
- Experience in the diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repair of vehicles;
- Organised and methodical approach to problem solving with attention to detail;
- A friendly, confident and professional manner with excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work as part of a team Good verbal communication skills Excellent customer care skills Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks;
- You will be an apprentice trained HGV mechanic;
- Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines Ability to work under pressure Ability to actively seek solutions to problems;
- You will be an apprentice trained Vehicle Mechanic.
