Maintenance Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Sit down/ride on mowers;
- Assist manufacturing team as required in order to achieve the manufacturing plan;
- Responding to machine breakdowns;
- Understanding plant improvement projects;
- Work with production to facilitate optimum running time of lines;
- Keeping maintenance records;
- Repair and maintenance of the building fabric, plant and equipment by carrying out preventive maintenance;
- To adopt a flexible approach in respect of other skills or trades to ensure the most cost effective completion of all tasks;
- Assist in the development and skills training of the Apprentices;
- Respond to all maintenance requests in order of priority and perform planned and reactive maintenance;
- Work to Resolve Breakdowns with the Assistant Maintenance Manager;
- Carry out plant checks and readings on essential equipment;
- Assisting operations in improving uptime on equipment using problem solving techniques;
- Conduct continuous monitoring of production lines to identify and implement improvements;
- Monitor equipment/machinery performance using agreed Key performance indicators, and investigate opportunities for improvement as identified.
Requirements:
- Carry out PPM’s;
- Ideally Apprenticeship trained;
- Able to read Electrical drawings;
- Electrical or mechanical training or experience;
- Previously worked as a Maintenance Engineer, within a manufacturing environment or similar;
- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment;
- Experience working with SCADA progammes is desirable;
- To be fully conversant with the risk assessments and attend training courses and willing to learn new skills and enhance current knowledge;
- Assist in the development and skills training of the Apprentices;
- Effective electrical fault finding skills – essential;
- Proven experience of working in an organised and structured way;
- Must have experience in programming and robotics;
- Experience of PLC programming and fault finding;
- Experience in directing and planning essential services such as maintenance, plant servicing, waste disposal, recycling and security;
- Electrical maintenance of automated material handling and process equipment.
