Maintenance Planner schedules maintenance programs and processes for an assigned plant or production facility to minimize impact on production. Evaluates the need for replacement parts and places orders. Being a Maintenance Planner schedules maintenance staff. Plans for interruptions in work and develops backup plans. Additionally, Maintenance Planner may require a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a Plant Manager. Maintenance Planner is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group.
