Our company is looking for a Repair Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement activities;
  • Provide customer feedback via Reports / email and telephone;
  • Perform the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies;
  • Installation of electrical looms;
  • Maintaining the traceability of all components and assembly parts;
  • Help maintain satisfactory CRD targets set for the SAO Business;
  • Ensuring that adequate information is available to complete the task;
  • Identify and navigate to appropriate electronic engineering and maintenance documentation to conduct repair actions;
  • Packaging of finished goods in line with recognised industry standards for air cargo;
  • The repair and assembly of all third party spares parts that pass through the Repairs Centre;
  • Record required Information on all repairs and publication discrepancies;
  • Generate repair cost quotation worksheets to be transmitted to end customer;
  • Reporting any defects to supervision;
  • The ability to demonstrate a good duty of care both individually and as part of a team;
  • Any other reasonable duties.

Requirements:

  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
  • A methodical and logical approach to work;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Effectively communicate with shop supervision, Engineering and Quality departments to solve technical repair problems;
  • Competence in the navigation of circuit diagrams and assembly drawings;
  • Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative;
  • Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks;
  • Knowledgeable with the use of power tools;
  • 0-3 years bench experience in an electronic systems repair environment;
  • May receive detailed instructions on work;
  • Candidates who can demonstrate the equivalent experience may also be considered;
  • Understanding of electronic circuit design for fault isolation and troubleshooting;
  • Experience in the handling of electronic assemblies (ESD, EOS, safe handling);
  • BTEC level 2/3 in an engineering discipline Or Equivalent Time Spent & Experience Gained in a similar environment;
  • Understanding of soldering techniques on surface mount technology where acrylic conformal coating is used is required.
