Our company is looking for a Specifications Technologist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete customer own format and BI Development specifications, declarations and customer formant specifications;
  • Complete end to end specifications enabling customers to complete field to fork traceability;
  • Respond to customer technical requests to meet submission deadlines;
  • Supply specifications and nutritional information for customer product launches for packaging, food safety and intolerance data;
  • Develop a full understanding of our capabilities and knowledge of the production and quality standards required;
  • GMO, work with suppliers to ensure compliance with legislation and customer expectation on this developing area;
  • Maintain awareness of legislative issues including EU food law;
  • Act as main point of contact for all customer queries regarding specifications;
  • Maintain the supplier database;
  • Maintain all customer specification portals ensuring all information is up to date and accurate;
  • Support maintenance of the Recipe Management system and work with suppliers to obtain extra information where required;
  • Check and approve product artwork, packaging and labelling in accordance with customer requirements and current legislation;
  • Complete customer SQAs;
  • Customer complaints, Trend analysis and KPI reports for the customers;
  • Awareness of HACCP.

Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge on food safety and functionality of key ingredients /additives for declaration purposes;
  • Key team player and eager to learn;
  • Working knowledge of the factory and raw materials currently used on site;
  • Strong organisational, project management and co-ordination skills to assist with critical path deadlines;
  • Hardworking and passionate with an eye for detail;
  • Good communication / interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across departments / suppliers and external customers;
  • Legal Labels / artwork training;
  • The person needs to be fully competent with all major software packages;
  • Competent with mathematics;
  • Attend Technical Handover Meetings with NPD, Process, Commercial and the customer team;
  • Attend feasibility meeting and guide teams on timescales required to deliver packaging;
  • Ensure all specifications are supplier authorised prior to launch with all the relevant attachments;
  • Manage the artwork process escalating any issues where timelines will not be met;
  • Write accurate specs that are right first time using Bradgate Raw Material Specifications that are completed and accurate;
  • Check accuracy of artwork and agree any amends with regulatory bodies or the customer.
