Our company is looking for a Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the department’s lawyers dealing with matters relating to the Council’s social care, education and public health related functions;
- Manage casework on matters relating to the Council’s social care, education and public health related functions;
- Drafting documents, liaising with clients and offering support to lawyers when needed;
- Working with a caseload and maintaining the current work of the lawyers within the department;
- Handling a wide range of legal documentation;
- Supporting the Built Environment department.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding of law and procedure relating to social care, education and/or public health;
- Degree level education, or full or trainee membership of CILEx or NALP or GDL or the Legal Practice Course (LPC), or similar qualification;
- Good attention to detail;
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
- Ability to conduct legal research or aptitude to learn;
- Ability to manage own caseload effectively and efficiently.
