Senior Legal Counsel Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Product, UK Legal in providing legal support for all aspects of the Invesco Product range, including UK UCITS and AIFs;
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts, and applying detailed corporaterules to contract negotiations;
  • Advising on internal Siemens’ rules and governance processes affectingthe business and supporting the business in compliance with the same;
  • Proactive management of legal risks;
  • Ensure all activities are in line with Invesco’s Conduct principles;
  • Supporting more junior members of the legal team and wider business;
  • Performing other duties as required or assigned;
  • Providing support to other team members, as required;
  • Qualified lawyer;
  • 5+ years PQE UK Qualified lawyer;
  • Ensures quality of service and work output is maintained to the highest standards;
  • Ensures correct Data Protection Policies & Procedures are followed;
  • Has strong knowledge of DPA 2018, GDPR, PECR and wider Data Protection legislation;
  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges;
  • Maintains the necessary independence and integrity of a legal advisor.

Requirements:

  • Excellent negotiation and drafting skills;
  • 5-10 years post qualification experience in private practice and/or as in-house legal counsel advising on the sell rather than the buy side;
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the business up to Exec level;
  • Apply high standards of accuracy;

  • Create solutions to problems;
  • Strong organisational skills;

  • Ability to develop effective working relations with internal clients as well as with non-legally trained colleagues;
