DMPK Scientist Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a DMPK Scientist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing sample analysis for regulated and non-regulated studies to specific time lines and regulatory requirements;
  • Preparation of and adherence to GLP/GCP documentation e.g. SOPs, plans and reports;
  • Ensuring that relevant equipment is maintained and in good working order in accordance with prevailing regulatory standards;
  • Presenting project related and other relevant data at internal meetings;
  • Understanding the practices and concepts of laboratory health and safety and observing and contributing to the company’s health and safety policy;
  • Required to work overtime as required by study designs;
  • Preparation of study paperwork;
  • Administration of drug solutions via routes including oral gavage, intravenous and intraperitoneal;
  • Dosing rodents, blood/tissue sampling and sample handling;
  • Responsible for the day to day running of in-life DMPK studies;
  • Maintain accurate records of in-life data;
  • Interaction with in-vitro DMPK and projects across the company.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Pharmacology, ideally within a commercial environment, although full training will be given;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • BSc or MSc in a related life science such as Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Applied Biology, Cell Biology etc;
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage your time to hit multiple deadlines a week;
  • Knowledge and / or experience of DMPK studies, including In Vivo models used to support drug discovery and drug development activities;
  • Previous experience of in-life DMPK is highly desirable;
  • Home Office Licence modules 1-3 is essential, module 4 is desirable;
  • Ability to deliver deadlines under pressure;
  • Experience with rodent dosing and sampling;
  • BSc in a life science discipline, or animal technology qualification;
  • Experience with laboratory rodents is essential;
  • Proven track record of in-life study participation.
