NPD Technologist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a NPD Technologist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to HACCP and hygiene, GMP for the site and NPD;
- Manage shelf-life and ingredients / finished product risks. Make recommendations;
- Presenting new products and improvements to customers in a professional manner, illustrating food and process knowledge and expertise;
- Conversion of current food trends into commercially successful concepts;
- Project management of product launches for specific customer accounts;
- Meticulous preparation of samples for sales team;
- Working closely with the development and cross-functional teams in all aspects of delivering new products in line with our agreed launch plan;
- Support and deliver new and existing product developments;
- Support the company vision through developing fantastic new products for the global market;
- Create and improve flavours through research and development;
- Lead factory trials with manufacturing teams;
- Understand how to resolve product vs. price challenges;
- Provide technical assistance and flavour expertise;
- Remain up to date with new trends and findings within flavourings, Nutrition and Supplements;
- Management of the relationship between customer needs and Barfoots’ production, procurement, technical and commercial requirements.
Requirements:
- Conversion of current food trends into commercially successful concepts;

- Project management of product launches for specific customer accounts;
- Working closely with the development and cross-functional teams in all aspects of delivering new products in line with our agreed launch plan;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills;
- Experienced in Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- An understanding of shelf life through the balance and control of Aw;
- Management of the relationship between customer needs and Barfoots’ production, procurement, technical and commercial requirements;
- Strong organisational skills;
- Understanding of food & recipe balance.
