account manager – events Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a account manager – events to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Attend site visits as and when required;
- Supplier and venue sourcing, negotiation and liaison;
- Ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery;
- Working with internal teams to deliver events on time, within budget, that meet (and hopefully exceed) expectations;
- Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on every project;
- Supervision of event staff during live event (technology suppliers, installers, promotional staff etc);
- Overall budget management for entire project; ensuring client approval, accurate competitive quotes and cost negotiation;
- Develop a work schedule based on specific client requirements for events, identifying all resources requirements;
- Attend client facing meetings including pitches and presentations;
- To ensure the client experience is a success from start to finish, maintaining excellent client retention and post-event feedback;
- To see the event through each element liaising with specific internal departments (catering, production, venue operations, site management, etc.);
- Post-event, you will be responsible for reconciliation of the event financials;
- As part of the planning process on all events, there should be a focus on increasing revenue through upselling to clients wherever possible;
- To organise debrief meetings with your clients with the view of retaining the event for future as retention is key to Smart Venues budget;
- To host clients at events and entertain pre/post events to help grow new and existing client relationships.
Requirements:
- capable of delivering proposals and presentations;
- capable of organising events across Europe;
- experienced in managing budgets;
- adept at writing, copy checking and reviewing creative work;
- Customer focused and a high level of customer / account management;
- Strong negotiation and budgeting skills;
- Minimum of 3 years operational experience in the events sector;
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time;
- Excellent computer and CRM skills;
- Be highly organised and ability to work to tight deadlines.
