Our company is looking for a Deputy Children’s Home Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring performance of staff, through supervisions and appraisals;
  • Deliver high standards of care;
  • Provide supervision and management to team of support staff;
  • Enabling young people to have access to home visits and appointments etc;
  • Liaising with families and external agencies to represent the young person;
  • Ensuring a proactive, positive and friendly approach with fresh new ideas;
  • Overseeing shift rota system to the benefit of the smooth running of the home;
  • Establishing positive relationships with the young people and offering help and support when needed;
  • Support and work with the manager and senior team;
  • Support children & young people to maintain a healthy lifestyle & promote positive choices;
  • You will be meticulous in surveying the safeguarding within the home and completing risk assessments;
  • Helping the young people gain self-control by challenging unacceptable behaviour and rewarding success;
  • Attending to childcare matters such as cooking and cleaning;
  • Inspiring and leading staff to deliver quality outcomes;
  • To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager and carry out any tasks directed by the home manager.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce, or equivalent;
  • At least 1 year experience as a Deputy Manager;
  • 1 year’s experience of working in a residential setting with young people with complex and challenging behaviour;
  • Current driving licence;
  • Experience in Leading/managing teams;
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management or willingness to work towards;
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent;
  • Experience in supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties;
  • A good understanding of Ofsted regulations;
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential home, preferably in a supervisory role.
