Deputy Headteacher Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Deputy Headteacher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that the school’s policies and procedures supporting students’ safety and wellbeing are continually updated and rigorously monitored;
- Persuasively communicating a coherent and ambitious vision and sense of direction, supported by clear objectives and measurable success criteria;
- Raising the expectations and aspirations of students and their families;
- Overseeing the upkeep and further development of the school’s site and resources to provide an appealing, stimulating and cost- effective environment;
- Ensuring that all staff have high expectations of what they and their students can and should achieve;
- Taking the lead in making the school a welcoming, stimulating, safe and thoroughly inclusive community;
- Identifying, promoting and embedding best practice in teaching and learning;
- Establishing effective management, organisation and administration to support the school’s day-to-day running and its continuing development;
- Teaching staff appraisal;
- Whole school CPD along with recruitment and retention;
- Line management of key faculties (to be negotiated);
- Developing a curriculum that meets the needs of students, ensuring effective timetabling;
- Ensuring that the use of data informs and enhances student progression;
- Other aspects of the role to be negotiated;
- Support high standards of Teaching and Learning.
Requirements:
- Evidence of continuing professional development including working towards or attainment of Leadership Pathways, NPQH or NPQSL (D);
- Line management of key faculties (to be negotiated);
- Teaching staff appraisal;
- Whole school CPD along with recruitment and retention;
- Quality of Education: Curriculum Intent & Implementation;
- Support high standards of Teaching and Learning;
- Masters (D);
- Qualified Teacher Status;
- A Good Honours Degree;
- Evidence of wider, recent and relevant professional development related to whole school leadership issues.
