Our company is looking for a Employee Relations Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • All other duties as assigned that are relevant to the role and support the goals of the ER CoE;
  • Promote and contribute to diversity initiatives;
  • Support appeals that arise from the disciplinary or grievance process;
  • Manage the UK redundancy process by advising and on occasion leading on the Consultation process;
  • Provide guidance on the application of employment law;
  • Track, analyze and interpret key metrics;
  • Provide performance management support and coaching to managers using the Company Performance Improvement Plan process;
  • Represent Covance in response to employment tribunal complaints and assist legal firms assigned to represent the Company;
  • Revise and continuously improve existing processes, tools and guidelines;
  • Support the provision of conflict resolution for employee/manager and employee/employee issues;
  • Contribute and lead employee relations projects/initiatives;
  • Function as a change leader in support of the organization ‘s initiatives;
  • Advise and support managers on internal investigations;
  • Support managers with probationer’s performance;
  • Support dismissals and disciplinary decisions for fairness, consistency and potential legal liability.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience;
  • Excellent MS Office skills;
  • Previous experience in ER, knowledge of employee legislation in Retail or similar field is desirable. Multi-site experience is an advantage;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams as an individual contributor;
  • Superior problem-solving skills;
  • Able to manage personal workload in a fast paced environment, ability to prioritise whilst ensuring quality results is essential;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage issues that are time-sensitive and highly confidential;
  • Proven experience in ER processes such as disciplinary, grievance and redundancy;
  • Excellent documentation compliance skills;
  • Up to date UK employment law knowledge;
  • Significant and demonstrable experience in employee relations;
  • Proven Experience in leading complex, high risk employee relations issues;
  • Experience of coaching front-line leaders on having difficult conversations, managing poor performance, investigations and disciplinary issues, etc.
