Facilities Maintenance Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct equipment life span, obsolescence studies and develop appropriate upgrade/replacement strategies;
- Carry out Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical plant issues suggesting engineering solutions for major downtime incidents;
- Set and monitor objectives for the team to ensure all KPI’s are met;
- Managing and controlling departmental expenditure within agreed budgets;
- Own and develop the PPM system ensuring checks and repairs are carried out on time and effectively by the maintenance team or subcontractors;
- Management of departmental health & safety strategies (RAMS/COSHH/Permits to Work/SSW’s etc.);
- To carry out other instructions and reasonable requests when asked to do so by management;
- Monitor equipment inventory;
- Monitoring the overall services provided for the site;
- Develop and audit maintenance procedures;
- Ensure the security of the building and surroundings;
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities;
- Maintain the fire exit routes and the landscaped areas in good condition;
- Managing the Facilities Department including services and personnel.
Requirements:
- Strong culture of Health and Safety and will have led various safety initiatives throughout your career;
- Degree or NVQ4 in a relevant Engineering discipline or served a full engineering apprenticeship;
- Significant engineering experience including a management role managing people;
- You will possess excellent reporting skills and will communicate effectively across all levels of the business;
- Experience in the development and implementation of a best practice Maintenance and Reliability strategy;
- Strong leader with demonstrable experience in delivering results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment;
- NEBOSH Qualification or relevant qualification;
- Manufacturing engineering background ideally;
- Good understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry;
- Minimum level 4 qualification in Engineering qualification;
- Previous experience of facilities engineering management gained from a manufacturing / industrial or engineering environment will be essential;
- Good knowledge of electrical distribution systems, fault diagnosis and safe working practices.
