Our company is looking for a Head of Construction to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive projects from their inception through to completion on behalf of the client, running multi-million pound projects;
  • Managing a team of project planning, contracts, execution and monitoring;
  • Oversee the implementation of PM PROjEN’s CM systems and procedures and drive improvement as required;
  • Ensures completion of the project in accordance with all the project goals, especially in the areas of safety, quality, time and cost;
  • Line management responsibility of PM PROjEN Construction Managers and Construction Supervisors;
  • Protect the business’s commercial and contractual interests on the project;
  • Ensures the relevant Pre Construction Information and Construction Phase plans are in place under CDM (2015);
  • Responsible for all construction related formal communication to the Customer, Designers, Contractors and others;
  • Lead the definition of safe and efficient construction strategies;
  • Establish and ensure the completion of the PM PROjEN Construction Management Plan (CMP), Construction Management;
  • Keep Project Manager or Project Sponsor fully informed on any issues of concern;
  • Ensure plant, systems and facilities are handed over to the Customer in accordance with project requirements and procedures;
  • Stand in for Construction Managers and Supervisors during periods of absence or act as Construction Manager for short duration site works;
  • Undertake site safety tours and audits;
  • Site Manual, Construction Execution Plan and Contractor Interface Procedures for all relevant projects.

Requirements:

  • Health and safety qualifications/ certification such as IOSH, NEBOSH etc;
  • A suitable level of experience in construction management, along with a broad project delivery capability in EPCMCQ related projects;
  • Good understanding of UK contractual models and supply chain capability;
  • Excellent knowledge and strong understanding of UK H&S statutory requirements;
  • Complex brownfield site experience and experience of client facility shutdowns and reinstatement;
  • Specific sector related experience including; Industrial, Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharma, Food & Drink and Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT);
  • Ideally degree or equivalent in related subject (e.g. construction management or engineering discipline);
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • UK project experience is strongly preferred;
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at management and operator levels within an organisation;
  • Temporary works experience / certification;
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
