Mechanical Team Leader Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Mechanical Team Leader to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all Projects follow and are documented via the businesses gated process;
- Ensure the tools and processes used by the team are up to date, efficient and fit for purpose;
- Maintain correct resource levels and when necessary use recruiting, selecting, on boarding and training to bring in new starters;
- Manage through leading the team’s activities through a centrally visibly plan, dealing with exceptions and escalating as appropriate;
- Assure monthly status reporting to management through governance meetings and standardised reporting;
- Ensure deliverance of strategy cascaded from Management;
- Ensure all interdepartmental communications are clear and concise;
- Drive root cause analysis, striving to prevent re-occurrence with counter measures;
- Define, update, track and report on metrics for team performance;
- Ensure the correct training is in place to improve the knowledge base and enable a highly capable multi skilled team;
- Oversee the team’s workload / activities, ensuring correct prioritisation in a fast paced and complex environment;
- Allocate the work and track resource utilisation levels across the team;
- Ensure the team follow health and safety rules and regulations including the safe use of PPE.
Requirements:
- Must have good appreciation of the bigger picture when considering tasks and their likely impact(s) on internal customers and other departments;
- A good Engineering degree;
- Driven to deliver solutions, ideas and innovations in a positive and pragmatic way;
- Excellent IT literacy, being a competent user of MS office;
- Must be a good communicator and have excellent fluency in spoken and written English;
- Experience of working with colleagues to offer coaching and mentoring to enhance their skills;
- Ability to build and maintain rapport with internal and external customers / suppliers;
- Self-motivated and resourceful;
- Good interpersonal and team working skills;
- Passionate about quality and best practice whilst driving continuous improvement;
- Must have a methodical approach to problem solving;
- Flexible and capable of working in a complex environment;
- Excellent organisational and communication skills utilising tact and discretion as required;
