Our company is looking for a Transport Shift Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage a team of 40 drivers;
  • Deal with any last minute planning during the day to day of the operation;
  • Ensure all compliance is being met throughout the operation;
  • Make sure Health and Safety is adhered to and temperature controls are strictly regulated;
  • You will be expected to manage the demands of the busy shift, dealing with problems that arise in a professional, effective and timely manner;
  • Management of the scheduling and planning of the transport operation, ensuring vehicle utilisation is maximised and services levels met;
  • Vendor relationship Management;
  • Ensure effective communication processes are established and maintained for both external/internal customers;
  • Compliance with company and local statutory obligations regarding working time legislation, operator licensing;
  • To ensure the effective and timely de-briefing of all drivers and effective management of the Digi Card system;
  • To ensure all Transport legislative requirements are met and full compliance is maintained at all times;
  • To monitor and control the performance of the Transport Planners, Compliance administrator and the driving teams;
  • To handle the booking of all agency driver requirements and be the focal point for all Transport related queries and to resolve all issues;
  • To liaise with the Transport Manager to ensure all service and MOT dates are met;
  • To monitor and control departmental absence, shift rotas, return to work meetings and holiday bookings.

Requirements:

  • A methodical approach combined with attention to administrative detail;
  • Computer literate (Outlook, Word, Excel);
  • A working knowledge of both WTD and digital tacho;
  • 3 Years’ experience in 3rd party logistics Management, and 1 – 2 years’ experience in managing a team with excellent results;
  • Self-starter with a flexible and positive attitude, ability to work within a pressurized environment on your own initiative;
  • Ability to build relationships with customers, suppliers & other internal departments;
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills;
  • Full national Certificate of Competence (CPC).
