Trust and Grant Fundraiser Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Trust and Grant Fundraiser to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- To draft materials for funders, making a compelling case for the company work;
- To maintain detailed records of funders identified, bids made, results of applications and contacts made;
- To advise the Head of Fundraising and other colleagues, as required, on all matters relating to grant fundraising;
- To work closely with the Fundraising Officer, who is responsible for small and regional funding bids, so as to ensure effective joint working;
- To represent the charity at fundraising events, if required;
- To be responsible for raising funds from charitable and other grant makers, with particular responsibility for larger funders;
- To prepare regular updates and progress reports for the Head of Fundraising;
- To support the Head of Fundraising in championing fundraising across the organisation;
- To maintain knowledge of current fundraising best practice on an ongoing basis;
- To make contact and build relationships with grant makers, in order to secure their interest in the company work;
- To prepare funding applications to identified funders;
- To undertake such other reasonable tasks as may, from time to time, be deemed necessary by the Head of Fundraising or the CEO;
- To research potential funders for the company work, for both core funds and project work, as required, using a wide range of research sources;
- To comply with all stated policies of the charity, including Equality of Opportunity, Health and Safety, data protection and others as may be required;
- To conduct site visits for potential funders.
Requirements:
- At least three years’ paid grant fundraising experience;
- GCSE or higher;
- The ability to work to and meet income and expenditure budgets;
- Educated to degree level;
- A high level of numeracy and literacy required;
- Excellent written communication skills;
- A positive attitude with a ‘can do’ approach and the ability to work under your own initiative and “go the extra mile”
- A well organised individual with an eye for detail;
- The ability to prioritise demanding workloads and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
