Our company is looking for a Warehouse General Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for all on site Logistics activities across a 24/7 operation;
  • Drive a culture of progression, motivation and development of all Distribution Centre staff;
  • Contribute and drive a cultural shift throughout existing and incoming operational team;
  • Report to the Head of Logistics;
  • Develop strategy to advance the business in the marketplace, efficiency and staff engagement;
  • Actively seek operational improvements to benefit both existing and new customers;
  • Create KPI’s to manage performance and productivity adopting new technique and process where this is necessary;
  • Manage the relationship between the business and various 3rd party suppliers;
  • Manage and liaise with existing site customers;
  • Be the spearhead for Health and Safety operational excellence within the site;
  • Develop and maintain a total quality culture in all areas of the operation in order to achieve a process of continuous improvement;
  • Have full responsibility of agreeing and managing the outsourced labour provider for warehouse labour provision;
  • Direct accountability and budgetary control for the site, ensuring overall CPU is met;
  • Overall responsibility for warehouse operations.

Requirements:

  • Have managed teams in directly of over 200 people;
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop team memebrs and creating an inclusive culture;
  • A minimum of 2 years experience at a General Manager level;
  • Be able to evidence the implementation of a KPI suite;
  • Have a good understanding of Health & Safety awareness and had previous responsibility at site lead level;
  • Be within a commutable distance of Peterborough;
  • A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background;
  • Owner of, and adherence to, operational budgets of c. £4M;
  • Excellent customer service focus;
  • Well experienced in a logistics environment with good understanding of continuous improvement and process flow;
  • Commercially astute;
  • Experience in dealing with unionized environments;
  • Experience in the implementation of digitisation and automation;
  • Experience in managing large teams and operations successfully, with attention to health & safety;
  • Proven track-record of delivering change / transformation projects.
