Associate Editor Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a Associate Editor to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Project tracking;
  • Proofreading and quality control;
  • Check, edit and reformat manuscripts for submission;
  • Check content and layouts for accuracy, flow, design and style;
  • Re-template where necessary;
  • Ad hoc admin support;
  • Create longer form editorial pieces;
  • Editorial planning and scheduling;
  • Oversee the creation and ideation of interview questions;
  • Strategize growth;
  • Manage an editorial calendar, shaping the editorial quality;
  • Coordinate with brands and interview personalities for content (i.e. reaching out);
  • Work closely with the Senior Editor to ensure editorial excellence;
  • Provide insight and input on art direction for featuresIntroduce and execute innovative editorial concepts;
  • Produce daily content and news, ensuring the direction is in alignment with the HYPEBEAST brand.

Requirements:

  • Self-determined, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment;
  • 1-2 years experience in journalism, digital media or related field;
  • Proven experience with Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter);
  • Passion for HYPEBEAST culture and personal interest in fashion;
  • Knowledge of HYPEBEAST content at a local and international level;
  • Possess a high level of creativity and out of the box thinking;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Photoshop and/or photography skills a plus;
  • Passion for innovation, constantly staying ahead of the changing trends;
  • Team Player with the ability to work with different personalities to optimize editorial quality.
