Our company is looking for a Editorial Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the editors in tracking manuscripts from submission to publication;
  • utilising research and knowledge in the medical fields to generate ideas for commissioning and writing content;
  • Write and distribute press releases and email marketing campaigns;
  • Work closely with clients to write paid for articles;
  • Checking the metadata behind the tiles – for example, that content is attached to the correct sport and competition;
  • Increase the social media reach;
  • Selecting and updating imagery for each content tile;
  • taking responsibility over the accuracy and quality of content ensuring that it’s all copyedited to a high standard;
  • the workflows of journals including the peer review process;
  • Attend award ceremonies, conferences and exhibitions as required;
  • building relationships with authors, reviewers and other stakeholders to be able to effectively communicate with them;
  • Write content for social media and press releases;
  • Writing the descriptions which accompany DAZN’s wide array of live games and feature content, across both the Canada and US platforms.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable proofreading skills;
  • A keen interest in the medical communications industry;
  • Preferably a degree in the life sciences;
  • Organisation/administration skills;
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the English language with qualifications at Higher Grade/A Level or above;
  • Confident using Microsoft PowerPoint;
  • Well versed in referencing scientific material;
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Some experience in medical editing.
