Accounts Assistant

Compile data, compute fees and charges, and prepare invoices for billing purposes. Duties include computing costs and calculating rates for goods, services, and shipment of goods; posting data; and keeping other relevant records. May involve use of computer or typewriter, calculator, and adding and bookkeeping machines.

Our company is looking for a Accounts Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • assistance with the preparation of monthly management accounts, group reporting and year end accounting;
  • Preparation of monthly payroll;
  • Setup new suppliers;
  • Ad-hoc month end tasks for the Finance Team;
  • Good communication skills (written & verbal);
  • Cost centre analysis;
  • Prepare monthly accounting statements;
  • Raising of sales invoices to customers on a weekly or monthly basis;
  • To provide the Management Board with management information as required;
  • Work closely, and organise monthly meetings with Property Managers, reviewing and presenting management accounts;
  • Assisting with year-end procedures and tasks as required;
  • Credit control skills including leasing with external clients, chasing debt and resolving queries;
  • Acting as a point of contact for finance queries;
  • Consolidation and preparation of monthly Sector management accounts;
  • Liaising with other departments.

Requirements:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • AAT studiers are encouraged to apply;
  • Assisting with year-end procedures and tasks as required;
  • Previous experience in job costing;
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
  • The desire to learn and increase your finance skill set;
  • Excellent numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Previous accounts environment experience;
  • Well organised and accurate in their work;
  • Experience using an ERP system like GreatPlains, Oracle or NetSuite desirable but not essential;
  • Confident & bubbly personality would be the best team fit;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience of working in a high transaction purchase ledger environment;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information clearly and concisely;
  • Currently studying for AAT, CIMA, ACCA.
