Expeditor expedites vendor-related production delays by resolving issues with late deliveries, discrepancies in quality or quantity, or failure to meet established specifications. Works with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods to designated locations. Being an Expeditor typically requires a bachelor’s degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Expeditor work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. To be an Expeditor typically requires 4 -7 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Expeditor to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • To continuously work towards 100% customer on time delivery performance;
  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to ensure we meet, or exceed, our customers’ delivery requirements;
  • Forward thinking order-book assessment to identify delivery and quality issues ahead of time;
  • Coordinating and executing external subcontract processing requirements to meet customer delivery commitments;
  • Maintain an auditable file of all relevant expediting documentation for each purchase order in relevant shared drive / area;
  • Demonstrate commitment to safe working practices;
  • Notifying Senior Expeditor / Supply Chain Manager of any potential schedule slippages;
  • Using principles of root cause analysis to support the implementation of corrective actions;
  • Daily desk expediting of purchase orders;
  • Communicate well as part of a team ensuring queries are resolved quickly;
  • Updating of materials management system (i.e. MATERIA) with the expediting status of Purchase Orders;
  • Understands and works to the Wood Financial Management Framework;
  • Continually set expediting follow up dates in materials management system (i.e. MATERIA);
  • Creation of daily expediting reports in materials management system (i.e. MATERIA);
  • Understands and lives Woods vision, values and behaviours.

Requirements:

  • Able to work proactively both individually and as part of a small team;
  • Experience in a Manufacturing or Product based environment;
  • A strong individual capable of working on own initiative whilst being a good team player;
  • Task performance driven and tenacious;
  • Experienced in managing, interpreting and analysing purchasing data with strong IT skills;
  • Use of MRP system for in a manufacturing & production environment;
  • Confident and professional manner in dealing with suppliers and internal customers;
  • Previous purchasing experience for machined parts or electrical in a manufacturing environment, with preference for medium batch high variety;
  • Previous proven experience expediting and driving improvements to OTIF.
