Our company is looking for a Float Legal Secretary to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating the firms Case Management System;
  • Diary Management;
  • Strong Microsoft office Skills;
  • Experience in working in a Family, Private client or Property department;
  • Preparing Mail;
  • Arranging appointments and meetings;
  • Progress client matters;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up to date diary;
  • To arrange for all copying to be done, in person if the reprographics team is not available to undertake the task;
  • To provide administrative support to Fee Earners in case preparation and legal matters generally;
  • To provide support to other secretaries as required;
  • To prepare mail and enclosures;
  • To prepare the Conference Room for meetings as necessary and for the tidying and clearance of the room at the end of the meeting;
  • To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing.

Requirements:

  • Educated to O-Level/GCSE and equivalent standard;
  • Previous secretarial experience within a legal environment;
  • Good organisational and communication skills;
  • Full UK driving license;
  • Ability to be flexible within the office environment;
  • ILEX Secretarial qualification (desirable);
  • Experience in working in a Family, Private client or Property department;
  • Arranging appointments and meetings;
  • Progress client matters;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills;

  • Keep the lawyer’s diary up to date using Outlook;
  • Using the Practice Management System for the creation of bills and transaction posting;
  • Carry out management of post (internal and external), including replying and drafting replies to routine correspondence;
  • Organise travel arrangements.
