Freight Forwarder Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Freight Forwarder to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Updating customers with the progress of their shipments;
- Organise import and export shipments via air and ocean;
- LCL and FCL Exports/Imports from global destinations, mainly the far east and USA;
- Complete all relevant customs and insurance documents;
- You will be involved and handling all freight forwarding shipments operationally;
- Multi modal freight movements;
- Maintain a high level of customer service;
- Deal directly with clients and suppliers on a daily basis;
- Customs documentation & Clearances;
- General administration duties;
- Data input;
- Quoting and arranging of road, air and ocean freight forwarding;
- Management of key accounts and customers;
- Preparing and sending invoices;
- Uploading export entries to issue to external export document companies.
Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- End to end experience with both imports & exports procedures;
- Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs;
- Demonstrate the to build and maintain relationships;
- Generating and following up sales leads;
- European Road Freight operational knowledge;
- Consultative selling /providing value-added services to clients;
- Providing clients with competitive proposals and following up quotations;
- Excellent listening and negotiation skills;
- A high level of energy with a “can-do” positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit;
- Customs clearance procedures;
- Ensuring a smooth transaction for each customer;
- Eligibility to work in the UK is essential;
- Proven track record of European Export & Imports Freight Forwarding;
- Able to work as a team & lead a team.
