Our company is looking for a Litigation Solicitor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Property damage recoveries Plaintiff work of any value and covering a range of perils including fire, flood,escape of water and escape of oil;
- Motor Recovery matters;
- Local Authority Housing;
- To undertake advocacy at all levels of Court/at Tribunals as appropriate, including the preparation and management of cases;
- To ensure that a responsive and cost-effective service is provided to officers and service departments;
- Processing clients’ cases on a timely and cost-effective basis;
- To carry out the service in accordance with the customer care, health and safety and equalities agendas;
- Maintaining the highest professional standards in accordance with the firm’s objectives and complying with the firm’s quality standards;
- Supervise colleagues dealing with volume debt recovery litigation and deal with wide range of queries from colleagues;
- Liaising with clients both over the telephone and in writing to provide clear and accurate advice;
- Managing your own caseload from start to finish and assisting junior members of the team;
- Helping more junior members of the team with development and training;
- Deal with complex defended consumer credit cases;
- Contribute to the growth of firm through business development and the development of operational efficiencies and litigation strategies;
- Progress cases efficiently to conclusion including attendance at mediations and attendance at court.
Requirements:
- Litigation;
- Self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity. Thrives on a fast moving, uncertain environment;
- Be a self starter with a proven track record of managing a demanding workload and of delivering robust and commercial legal advice;
- Be a team player with a can-do approach and a willingness to embrace new legal challenges with an open mind;
- Attention to detail and pride in quality work;
- Articulate and effective communicator;
- Seeks out relevant background work to understand best practice and build on others work, seeking expert external input where required;
- You will maintain and update the Court diary;
- You will run your own varied caseload of Litigation matters;
- You will undertake business development and attend networking events, in order to promote the firm, the department and yourself;
