Motor Claims Handler Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Motor Claims Handler to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist where required in general office administration to ensure smooth running of office;
- Review claims regularly and proactively using diary system to ensure accurate reserves and a 1:1 closing ratio is maintained;
- Make Indemnity enquiries, using most appropriate method (phone, correspondence, Experts);
- Review and record claims, validate policy coverage, contractual obligations and allocate appropriate codes and reserves;
- Work in accordance with FCA guidelines and investigations;
- Respond to all written and phone enquiries clearly, courteously and within service levels stipulated by the relevant Contract;
- Ensure all records are up-to-date and completed accurately;
- Support clients to ensure that claims are handled efficiently, proactively and within insurer service levels;
- Develop relationships with clients and key clients;
- Comply with external and internal regulations and statutory policies, procedures and regulations;
- Any other duties that might be required from time to time;
- Identify and report claims trends and policy inefficiencies to line manager;
- Attend Conferences/Consultations when appropriate;
- Handling incoming calls from clients regarding motor traffic claims;
- Clearly explain decisions on Indemnity, negotiating settlement within authority level where appropriate.
Requirements:
- Strong negotiation skills;
- Motor Insurance experience is essential;
- A clear aspiration to learn and develop;
- A confident manner;
- Evidence of working in a team;
- Good influencing skills;
- Good knowledge of a wide range of common office software;
- Progressing to ACII or equivalent preferred;
- Excellent customer service experience and ability to manage expectations effectively;
- Educated to GCSE level.
