Our company is looking for a Part Time Accounts Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Data entry;
  • Counting and preparing the daily takings from all sources;
  • Answer staff questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records;
  • Processing and logging customer refunds;
  • Reconciling Sales invoices, receipts and payments;
  • Allocating payments;
  • VAT submissions;
  • Monthly payroll processing;
  • Dealing with invoice queries;
  • Maintain the cashless payment systems including cashless catering systems and ensure that school funds and trip financial arrangements are in order;
  • To provide assistance and advice to budget holders on financial matters;
  • Maintain bank accounts held in the UK, including monthly reconciliations to deadlines;
  • Assist Accounting Manager with monthly, quarterly and biannual reporting;
  • Credit control duties including chasing payments from customers;
  • Statement reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.

Requirements:

  • Sage experience is preferred;
  • Previous all round accounts experience is essential;
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst handling multiple priorities;
  • Highly proficient in Excel;
  • Strong transactional finance grounding with the ability to support a strong finance team at month end;
  • High standard of numerical and communication skills;
  • Able to work efficiently in a team;
  • Previous accountancy experience and working towards or possess accountancy qualification (desirable but not essential provided you fit the above);
  • Ability to time manage effectively;
  • 5 years + experience across all aspects of accounts;
  • Punctual and professional;
  • AAT qualified is a good measure of the work required however someone studying ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience would equally be considered;
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills;
  • Be looking to progress and develop yourself professionally;
  • Possess excellent communications skills.
