Payroll Processor Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a Payroll Processor to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Be first point of contact for payroll queries and ensuring a resolution has been reached;
  • Accurate calculations of holiday pay;
  • Work well within a team environment;
  • Knowledge of CIS preferable but not essential;
  • Knowledge of auto enrolment including processing of NEST transactions;
  • Comfortable with a payroll processing program such as Sage Line 50;
  • To process the payroll for customers, ensuring all timesheets processed match the support plan or authorised spend;
  • To respond and resolve payroll queries;
  • To work within a small team of 4 staff;
  • Be able to handle large volumes of data;
  • To assist with the processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for over 350 clients;
  • Uploading new customers onto our payroll software;
  • To ensure monthly statements are printed and sent out to all customers, as per their preferred method, by the deadlines identified;
  • To integrate successfully with the team and provide effective support for other team members;
  • To deal with HMRC in respect of basic queries.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of RTI requirements;
  • Be able to handle large volumes of data;
  • 3 – 4 years Payroll experience;
  • Knowledge of auto enrolment including processing of NEST transactions;
  • Comfortable with a payroll processing program such as Sage Line 50;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products and Iris Payroll Software. (Desirable);
  • Full knowledge required of FPS / EPS procedures for HMRC Regulations and Auto Enrolment pension schemes procedures.(Desirable);
  • Practice experience (Desirable);
  • Full knowledge of SPP / SMP entitlement and calculations. (Desirable).
