Revenue Accountant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Revenue Accountant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- To review and reconcile revenues and costs, ensuring accurate accounting;
- Maintain and contribute to internal controls structure to ensure accurate financial reporting;
- Review change requests for engagements to ensure the impact to revenue remains correct;
- Approve credit memos after reviewing for impact to revenue and bad debt considerations;
- Lead monthly meetings with sales, consulting and/or project management to review engagements to ensure accurate revenue recognition;
- Evaluates and escalates revenue issues as identified through accounting staff, Order to Cash, FP&A or field interaction;
- Create and maintain internal control structure;
- Prepare debtors pack with commentary;
- Support with improvement of processes for revenue structures;
- Prepare revenue packs with variance commentary to budget and periodic variances;
- Maintain client jobs on Maconomy;
- Assist in SOX, internal and external audits;
- Reconciles discrepancies, investigates variances and makes financial recommendations;
- Building, maintaining and monitoring sales performance plans for the Commercial Team in the UK;
- Work with various stakeholders to complete the annual disclosure on payments to government.
Requirements:
- Strong MS Excel skills;
- Must be excel proficient and comfortable around spread sheet creation and manipulation;
- Works well in a pressured environment;
- Pro-active self-starter and team player;
- Continually seeks improved and more efficient methods of working;
- Qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) Accountant with strong commercial analyst background;
- Experience in using Salesforce (SFDC) for pipeline tracking etc preferred;
- Ability to communicate at all levels, including with non-Finance associates essential;
- Experience in working with Maconomy (Ideal);
- Ability to deliver to tight deadlines;
- Marketing Services Industry Experience Ideal but not essential;
- Analytical mind-set;
- Disciplined and analytical approach;
- Strong communication skills both oral and written;
- Strong interpersonal skills, adept at liaising at all levels.
