CNC Miller Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a CNC Miller to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Working on CNC Mills;
- Creating components predominately for the Oil & Gas Industry;
- Editing CNC Programs for the effective machining of components;
- Liasing with CAD departments and planning for production;
- To support the business to meet defined KPIs e.g. On Time Delivery;
- Comprehensive use of measuring equipment (Venires, Micrometres, Gauges, Shadow graphs etc.);
- Program Set and Operate CNC Milling machines with Fanuc controls (Fanuc controls experience would be an advantage but not essential);
- Ensure excellent standard of housekeeping and Health & Safety;
- Programming and Operating CNC Milling machines using Haas Controls (Or Transferrable Skills on similar operating systems);
- Making a number of precison components from 1-Offs – 10-Offs predominantly in Plastics – Rigid plastics, PTFE, Polyprop;
- Working from technical drawings;
- Follow good manufacturing practice and health & safety protocols;
- Setting and Operating CNC Mills;
- Chase tooling fixtures;
- Load and prepare materials and tools.
Requirements:
- Must be experienced CNC Miller/Setter/Programmer;
- Must be a proactive team player, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude;
- Have a good understanding of engineering drawings;
- Read engineering drawings;
- Able to work with large components up to 35 ton;
- Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role;
- Programme, set and operate with fanuc controls;
- Able to read and produce components from engineering drawings;
- Ability to plan and work from own initiative, with minimum supervision;
- Oil, Gas, Fluid and Power generation industry sectors;
- Ability to work to deadlines and targets;
- Machining to tight tolerances;
- Doosan Vertical Machining Centres (750 – 2200mm Beds);
- Keen eye for detail;
- You should have a full understanding and ability to interpret mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
