CNC Turner Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a CNC Turner to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Medium batch work;
- The movement, administration and identification of product between areas;
- The general housekeeping of the machines and all surrounding areas;
- Reading engineering drawings;
- Load and prepare materials and tools;
- Reading and working to detailed Engineering Drawings and Customer samples;
- Work from complex engineering drawings;
- Deal with variety of materials, small batch work;
- Working to tight tolerances to create components for a range of industry sectors;
- Programming/Setting and Operating a Doosan Puma 2600SY Lathe with Fanuc Controls;
- Operating CNC Mills advantageous;
- Conforming to the inspection and paperwork requirements ISO 9001;
- Working from technical drawings;
- OCQ – Operator Control of Quality;
- Editing and offsets of programmes.
Requirements:
- Minimum two years experience of operating and setting precision engineering components;
- Minimum ONC Qualification in an engineering discipline;
- Confidence in their work, and keen to learn more skills, machines and controls;
- Engineering Apprenticeship (Desirable but not Essential);
- Extensive experience of Programming CNC lathes using Fanuc;
- Must be a proactive team player, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude;
- Have a good understanding of engineering drawings;
- Machining to tight tolerances;
- Familiarity with Fanuc or Mazatrol controllers;
- The necessary skill set to work within a team environment or individually;
- Ability to work to strict deadlines;
- Able to read and produce components from engineering drawings;
- Good communication, operational and organisational skills;
- Ensuring that quality and safety standards are adhered to at all times;
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
