CNC Turner Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a CNC Turner to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Medium batch work;
  • The movement, administration and identification of product between areas;
  • The general housekeeping of the machines and all surrounding areas;
  • Reading engineering drawings;
  • Load and prepare materials and tools;
  • Reading and working to detailed Engineering Drawings and Customer samples;
  • Work from complex engineering drawings;
  • Deal with variety of materials, small batch work;
  • Working to tight tolerances to create components for a range of industry sectors;
  • Programming/Setting and Operating a Doosan Puma 2600SY Lathe with Fanuc Controls;
  • Operating CNC Mills advantageous;
  • Conforming to the inspection and paperwork requirements ISO 9001;
  • Working from technical drawings;
  • OCQ – Operator Control of Quality;
  • Editing and offsets of programmes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years experience of operating and setting precision engineering components;
  • Minimum ONC Qualification in an engineering discipline;
  • Confidence in their work, and keen to learn more skills, machines and controls;
  • Engineering Apprenticeship (Desirable but not Essential);
  • Extensive experience of Programming CNC lathes using Fanuc;
  • Must be a proactive team player, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude;
  • Have a good understanding of engineering drawings;
  • Machining to tight tolerances;
  • Familiarity with Fanuc or Mazatrol controllers;
  • The necessary skill set to work within a team environment or individually;
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines;
  • Able to read and produce components from engineering drawings;
  • Good communication, operational and organisational skills;
  • Ensuring that quality and safety standards are adhered to at all times;
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
