Heat Treatment Operative Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Heat Treatment Operative to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Setting temperature for particular treatments;
- Complete compliance checks;
- Loading and unloading products into furnace or tank;
- Involvement with internal and external audit;
- Achieving production / arrears / quality / efficiency targets identified by production management;
- Programming and operating furnace controls;
- Cleaning and preparing of parts / ensuring processed parts conform to drawing;
- Cooling products by air drying, water and oil (quenching);
- Follow Technical Instructions for heat treatment process – annealing, solution and precipitation treatment;
- Ensuring parts are processed in the allowed time;
- Loading / unloading / processing components to the correct standard;
- First article inspections;
- Coaching the team on technical knowledge;
- Monitoring treatment cycles;
- Supporting area to carry out alternative tasks when required.
Requirements:
- Able to work as part of a team;
- Educated to GCSE Level Standard Minimum;
- Previous experience in Nadcap disciplines;
- Experience or aerospace or similar industry;
- Previous experience within a modern heat treatment environment;
- Computer literate (ideally with recognised qualification);
- History or working to targets;
- Experience working with AS9100 / Nadcap;
- Level 1 heat treatment / NDT & Level 2 hardness & conductivity.
