MIG Welder fabricator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a MIG Welder fabricator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Remove any scale from the weld areas;
- Measuring and cutting materials using the equipment provided;
- Must be able to Weld and Fabricate from detailed drawings;
- Degrease prior to welding;
- Used to working with heavy materials and welding up to thicknesses of 40mm;
- Ensure all material(s) is free from damage or corrosion;
- Delivery of projects within agreed timescales and budgets;
- Must be able to meet production dead lines;
- Fabricate the assembly with high quality welds;
- Working to Engineering drawings;
- Liaising with other departments to ensure that deadlines are archived;
- Willingly carry out other duties deemed appropriate by the company;
- Neatness of work, such as flushed weld finish; material(s) surface finish;
- Must be able to self-inspect own work;
- Working from technical drawings constantly, most items will be either unique or a small batch.
Requirements:
- Experience with welding pressure vessels or leak tested containers;
- Ability to work with others, with a “can-do” attitude;
- Previously worked with 0.6mm – 15mm plate;
- Experienced MIG Welding on Mild Steels in fillet and butt joints;
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings;
- The successful candidate must be able to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings;
- Previous experience of MIG Welding;
- Be prepared to undertake welding tests regularly to maintain EN standards;
- Minimum of 2+ years welding experience.
