Our company is looking for a Mig Welder to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting any non-conformance issues;
  • MIG Welding on heavy equipment;
  • High volume JIG based Production Welding;
  • Some TIG welding if trained;
  • Working on press brake via an in-house training program to become an all-round fabricator;
  • Reading drawings;
  • Working on a plasma cutting machine;
  • MIG welding of mild steel (4mm – 8mm);
  • Multi run weld;
  • Working to Engineering drawings;
  • Reading engineering drawings;
  • General housekeeping of work area;
  • General maintenance and upkeep of the workshop;
  • Maintaining a safe working area;
  • Fabricate the material using cutting tools, grinding tools etc.

Requirements:

  • Confidently read and understand Engineering drawings or instructions;
  • Ability to use and work with hand tools;
  • You must be an apprentice trained, time served Welder and be able to work to a high standard in MIG;
  • The ability to read from drawings is essential;
  • Experience of fast-paced, high quality production welding;
  • Able to read, understand and work to engineering drawings;
  • Good knowledge of working with steel in varying levels of thickness (0.8mm – 6mm);
  • Fabricating experience;
  • Jig work experience;
  • Be able to work a morning shift;
  • You will be an experienced MIG Welder;
  • A good team player and a “can do” attitude;
  • You will be able to read engineering drawings;
  • Experience of using hand held and air powered tools;
  • Good understanding of non-welding processes such as: Grinding, sanding, spot welding and stud welding.
