Solderers and brazers also use heat to join two or more metal objects together. Soldering and brazing are similar, except that the temperature used to melt the filler metal is lower in soldering. Soldering uses metals with a melting point below 840 degrees Fahrenheit. Brazing uses metals with a higher melting point.

Our company is looking for a Solderer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Wiring, soldering and general assembly of electronic units;
  • General housekeeping duties;
  • Testing and repairing,
  • Manufacturing and assembling of various products to engineering specifications;
  • Fault Finding;
  • Completing all paperwork in accordance with quality and contract requirements.

Requirements:

  • Removal and Replacement of Surface Mount and Pin through Hole components;
  • Ability to read customer BOM and drawing;
  • Experience of soldering with Lead free;
  • Sound knowledge of SMT component types, package sizes and IPC quality standards;
  • Conscientious, hardworking, polite and a desire to learn new skills and to support other members of the team when required;
  • Comfortable following standard procedures;
  • Ability to quickly and accurately hand solder PTH parts;
  • Ability to work from assembly drawings and build packs and to complete production documentation;
  • Ability to hand solder and re-work fine pitch SMT components to a minimum standard of IPC Class II.
