Our company is looking for a Legal Cashier to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Providing a friendly and efficient service to clients;
- The processing of client and office accounting transactions including postings and cheque production;
- Ad hoc Financial Reporting;
- Work closely with finance manager to ensure accurate and complete information received to manage the business;
- Posting of accounting transactions;
- Payment of third-party invoices from experts and barristers, including overseas, recorded and paid on our bills;
- Manage client residual balances, actively checking with fee earners when funds can be returned;
- Dealing with all invoices and ensuring they are paid on time;
- Signing off payments to clients;
- To post online searches;
- Any other ad-hoc tasks required within the finance function;
- Assist with compiling monthly and weekly budgets and projections;
- Complete daily bank reconciliations;
- To assist in dealing with all matters concerning the Firm’s petty cash;
- Posting invoices to ledgers.
Requirements:
- Strong ability to work with Excel, Outlook and Word;
- Excellent communication and organisational skills;
- Close attention to detail;
- Excellent technically – should be adept at picking up new systems;
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines particularly at month end and financial year end;
- Experience in both office and client accounts, as well as multi-currency cashiering;
- Ability to draft simple correspondence unsupervised;
- Formal qualifications in English and Mathematics;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop a good rapport with all internal and external clients;
- Organised and accurate, with the ability to deal with a high volume of work autonomously;
- Previous legal finance experience essential, with a robust knowledge of the SARs to ensure compliance;
- Genuine interest in business and finance;
- Team player able to fit into a friendly but busy unit;
- Confidence and ability to communicate at senior levels and to liaise with all parties both internal and external;
- Ability to respect confidentiality of work carried out.
