Our company is looking for a Legal Cashier to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing a friendly and efficient service to clients;
  • The processing of client and office accounting transactions including postings and cheque production;
  • Ad hoc Financial Reporting;
  • Work closely with finance manager to ensure accurate and complete information received to manage the business;
  • Posting of accounting transactions;
  • Payment of third-party invoices from experts and barristers, including overseas, recorded and paid on our bills;
  • Manage client residual balances, actively checking with fee earners when funds can be returned;
  • Dealing with all invoices and ensuring they are paid on time;
  • Signing off payments to clients;
  • To post online searches;
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks required within the finance function;
  • Assist with compiling monthly and weekly budgets and projections;
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations;
  • To assist in dealing with all matters concerning the Firm’s petty cash;
  • Posting invoices to ledgers.

Requirements:

  • Strong ability to work with Excel, Outlook and Word;
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills;
  • Close attention to detail;
  • Excellent technically – should be adept at picking up new systems;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines particularly at month end and financial year end;
  • Experience in both office and client accounts, as well as multi-currency cashiering;
  • Ability to draft simple correspondence unsupervised;
  • Formal qualifications in English and Mathematics;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop a good rapport with all internal and external clients;
  • Organised and accurate, with the ability to deal with a high volume of work autonomously;
  • Previous legal finance experience essential, with a robust knowledge of the SARs to ensure compliance;
  • Genuine interest in business and finance;
  • Team player able to fit into a friendly but busy unit;
  • Confidence and ability to communicate at senior levels and to liaise with all parties both internal and external;
  • Ability to respect confidentiality of work carried out.
