Senior Producer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Producer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Studio Manager to understand the set build, photography, styling and related costs to projects at quoting stage;
- Project planning at both a high level ‘big picture’ and detailed, week-by-week task-focused plans;
- Experience of working in a constructively critical, open and honest culture;
- A grasp of Agile and especially Scrum – for example, working as part of a Scrum team or acting as Scrum Master;
- Maintaining strong, collaborative working relationships with the client service team and clients;
- Accurate and objective interpretation of client briefs received from the Client Service team;
- Team management with an adaptable (by situation) style, focused on facilitative leadership as opposed to ‘command and control’
- Managing the morale, motivation, performance and personal development of project’s production team;
- Identifying process and planning issues and tenaciously following through to resolve them, adapting the teams approach to improve performance;
- Working with a wide range of people from the most senior to the most junior, willing to both listen carefully and challenge hard;
- Accurate reporting of scope, in terms of actual and forecast costs and effort, to enable the Studio to support with appropriate resources;
- Inform the relevant Studio Manager of upcoming projects and the associated resource requirements in good time;
- External partnership management, such as mo-cap, art production or testing;
- Advise Client Service team on the possible production solutions to aid them to complete clear and detailed quotes, accurate briefs and timing plans;
- Developing close and productive working relationships with all the production crew and coach direct reports.
Requirements:
- Meticulously organised;
- In-depth knowledge of Excel;
- Familiarity with a variety of project management and bug tracking software (e.g. Jira, DevTrack, Trello, etc.);
- Passion for narrative-led games;
- Fanatical about details;
- Organised and with the ability to prioritise a varying workload effectively;
- Exceptional project management skills from experience, with a solid understanding of modern project management methodologies and practices;
- At least 5+ years of experience in a production role within the games industry.
