Our company is looking for a Cruise Staff to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates with tour dispatches with the Explore Ashore Team;
  • Shows an interest in and knowledge of the wider entertainment world with Guests;
  • Informs Cruise Director of any complaints;
  • Consistently demonstrates courteous and considerate behaviours to all guests;
  • Assists as necessary in maintaining the Library;
  • Engages with Guests daily and deals with any complaints and provides feedback in an efficient manner;
  • Ensures all entertainment presentations and entertainment activities are delivered to the highest standard;
  • Attends and hosts events as directed;
  • Actively interacts and socialises with all guests;
  • Promotes entertainment activities;
  • Welcomes guests and assists them at all times during the cruise;
  • Looks after entertainment tools and equipment;
  • Ensures that the content and entertainment activities are professional and non-offensive to the audience;
  • Handles complaints and queries;
  • Stages and performs entertainment shows/acts.

Requirements:

  • At ease with public speaking;
  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests;
  • Completion of high school or basic education equivalency required;
  • Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French, Portuguese or German preferred;
  • A recognised medical certification is required before starting to work on board;
  • Ability to provide basic instruction to a large group of people;
  • Computer literacy;
  • All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position;
  • Degree from a college or university in the theater, performance or dance preferred;
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a professional entertainer (Hotels, Camping, Cruiselines, etc.);
  • Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of software basic packages;
  • Possess a valid passport and when possible a seaman book copy;
  • Enthusiastic and creative;
  • Professional certificates are an advantage;
  • Proven people skills along with conflict resolution, counselling, mediating and motivational skills.
