HGV Driver Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a HGV Driver to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Local Deliveries around Staffordshire and Cheshire;
- Day work (starting between 5 am and 8 am);
- Trunking;
- Meeting and communicating with the clients directly;
- Both day and night shifts available;
- You will also be responsible to assist with other roles around the site;
- curtain side trailers, modern units;
- Physically loading and unloading goods to and from the vehicle;
- Working days are Monday to Saturday every week. 6 days every week;
- Performing pre and post vehicle checks in accordance with company policy and reporting any defects found;
- Handballing;
- Daily walk around checks of your vehicle to maintain roadworthiness;
- Overtime opportunities available;
- Adhering to assigned delivery schedule and following all job directives precisely;
- Deliveries around the Midlands.
Requirements:
- CPC;
- No more than 6 Points for minor offences;
- Digital Tacho Card;
- Be able to work in a busy environment;
- Have a CO cert (formally Level D) training will be provided;
- Drivers would need to be able to work from 06.00 – 16.30;
- Professional attitude to work;
- Good Understanding of WTDs (Working Time Directives);
- Overtime opportunities available;
- Clean CRB (DBS);
- Minimum 6 months experience driving HGV lorry in central London;
- Clean licence preferable;
- Some manual handling would be needed for the drainage equipment;
- Must comply with the laws set out by the DVSA;
