Our company is looking for a transport operator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring sickness/absence are covered;
- Ensuring correct paperwork is completed with agency drivers;
- Ensuring Operator’s License and drivers hours legislation are adhered to;
- Dealing with any issues that arise impacting operations, including: traffic delays, breakdowns, accidents;
- Preparation & reconciliation of delivery paperwork, POD’s etc;
- Collate all feedback against plan in the daily operations log for use in plan/do/review calls;
- Supporting the safe, legal and efficient execution of transport operations during a duty shift to network SLA’s/KPI’s;
- Managing drivers including agency drivers and subcontractors;
- Maintain and action all defects immediately following the correct process and ensure any VOR vehicles are kept off the road until rectified;
- To undertake any duties as may reasonably be required;
- Work with customers to meet current and anticipated requirements to enable Lombard Shipping to achieve service expectations;
- To assist with the planned maintenance of the Company’s transport fleet, and where appropriate that repairs are carried out under warranty;
- To ensure there is a consistent and standardised approach in our operation;
- Drive high standards and flag opportunities for process improvement;
- To ensure constructive relationships with all customers are maintained and developed.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of driver’s rules and regulations and WTD;
- Ability to communicate at all levels;
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Excellent levels of commitment and motivation;
- Experience working in transport;
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint;
- Previous transport experience;
- Experience of routing/planning within a multi-drop environment;
- Work well under pressure;
- Previous use of our system Multifreight;
- Able to work to tight deadlines;
- Ability to question, challenge and improve upon existing processes.
