With over 16,000 employees across 33 manufacturing sites in 12 countries we serve over 90% of the world’s aircraft and engine manufacturers and achieved sales of £3.Based in our thriving facilities in East Cowes, the Tool Conformity Engineer will be responsible for the fault-finding, maintenance and repair of a range of composite and assembly (jigs etc.) They will also be expected to actively identify concerns (Hazard identification), make problems immediately known to their Team Leader (pull the Andon), and raise improvement ideas to solve problems (Kaizen).

Conducting and (where applicable) authorising tool conformity assurance activities through the surveying, manufacture, maintenance, and recertification of tooling across the site.

• Undertake all of their tasks in compliance with the standard work and their training, and make any problems; safety, quality, or other, immediately known to their TL.
• Exemplify a safety-first mind-set and follow all GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
• Understand their team’s People, Safety, Quality, Deliver, Cash and Cost Key Performance Indicators and their contribution to them.
• Become certified at the Lean Foundation level and implement at least 1 Kaizen per month.

Successful completion of a formal 3 or 4 year apprenticeship in a manufacturing or engineering related subject.

• Significant previous experience in a similar role, preferably covering both composite and assembly tooling.
