Are you passionate about supporting young people’s mental health and wellbeing? Academics are currently recruiting for a Mental Health Assistant to join a school in Swindon. This rewarding role involves supporting students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, alongside a range of complex needs, autism and associated learning differences, within a supportive environment.
This opportunity is ideal for graduates or individuals considering future careers in psychology, therapy, counselling, teaching, or youth work who are looking to build meaningful experience working directly with young people.
The Role – Mental Health Assistant - Swindon
- Support students with emotional regulation, wellbeing, and engagement in learning
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- What We’re Looking For - Mental Health Assistant
- Experience supporting SEN, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Interest in mental health, SEN, and child development
- Psychology, counselling, education, or related background desirable
- Previous experience with young people or mental health beneficial but not essential
Ideal stepping stone for aspiring psychologists, therapists, or teachers
- Competitive daily pay rates
- Psychology graduates or related degrees
- Youth work / support work / care background
- Team Teach / MAPA / CPI training
