How to become a nurse prescriber in the UK?
Below are some general steps by which one can become a nurse prescriber in the UK:
Firstly, you must be a registered nurse with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC)
Secondly, you must meet the requirements set by the NMC, which include having at least three years of post-registration experience. Thirdly, you must have completed a NMC course that has been approved by the Council, either at a university or any other educational institution.
Fourthly, you are required to gain enough experience under the supervision of a medical practitioner, also known as a DMP.
Additionally, you must apply for the prescriber qualification from the NMC council upon gaining the experience mentioned above
Lastly, you are required to register as a nurse prescriber upon acquiring the nurse prescriber qualification.
