Mobile Plant Fitter
Location: Rochester, Kent
Salary: £40,000 – £43,000 per annum DOE
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join a growing team, responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a range of small and mobile plant machinery.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Plant Fitter or experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for a permanent position offering a competitive salary, company van and fuel card, overtime opportunities and ongoing training.
The Role
As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring plant and equipment is maintained to a high standard and remains safe, reliable and ready for use.
Your responsibilities will include:
Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs across a range of mobile plant equipment
Servicing and completing routine preventative maintenance
Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out emergency repairs where required
Carrying out inspections and identifying potential mechanical issues
Ensuring all machinery is safe, compliant and fit for operation
Working independently across multiple sites
Maintaining accurate records of servicing, repairs and maintenance work
Equipment You Will Work On
You will ideally have hands-on experience working with a range of small plant and construction equipment, including:
Disc cutters
Generators
Pumps
Trench rammers
Mini diggers
Dumpers
About You
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience in plant, construction equipment or mechanical maintenance
Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience servicing and repairing small/mobile plant machinery
The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
A proactive and reliable approach to your work
A full UK driving licence
