Full Time School Caretaker

We are seeking a reliable and skilled School Caretaker to join a well-established secondary school in Durham . In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the school site, ensuring that our students and staff have a safe and welcoming environment in which to work and learn.

Contract: Full-time, Permanent (Year-round)

Split shifts (e.g., Site Security: Acting as a primary key holder, responsible for the daily opening and securing of the school buildings and grounds.

General Maintenance: Carrying out first-line repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, joinery, and painting, as well as managing the school’s heating and lighting systems.

Performing regular safety checks, including fire alarm testing, water temperature monitoring (Legionella), and playground equipment inspections.

Assisting with the movement of furniture and equipment for assemblies, exams, and school events.
