As an Engineering Technician in our Bridges and Civils team (Glasgow) within our Transportation business, you will be responsible for delivering a variety of civil and structural computer aided design and modelling packages for new build highways and rail schemes, renewals schemes, assessment works and asset management schemes. Your duties will include the production of drawing and modelling packages, to budget, to programme, and in accordance with AtkinsRéalis' quality assurance systems. We work on a diverse range of significant and challenging projects across the UK and Ireland, including the multiple sections of the A9 Dualling, Network Rail's CP7 Maintenance Programme, as well as the N28 Cork to Ringaskiddy (Ireland). The team also supports non-transportation civil engineering and structures projects throughout the UK and internationally such as Rolls Royce Small Modular Reactor programme, as well as delivering a range of local authority projects for Councils across the Scotland and Northern Ireland. You'll feel a great sense of pride in shaping high-quality civil and structural designs across new build, renewal, maintenance, and assessment works.

Using your technical and delivery skills, you will be responsible for delivering a variety of civil and structural computer aided design and modelling packages for new build highways and rail schemes, renewals schemes, assessment works and asset management schemes.

Production of technical drawings using relevant CAD/BIM software.

Assisting with site surveys and other site activities.

Adhering to the company's Quality, Safety and Environmental procedures.

Ensuring compliance with company CAD and Digital Engineering standards.

A BTEC/HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering subject or working towards a BTEC/HNC or equivalent qualification.

Experience of preparing engineering sketches and plans from conception through to construction.

Robust IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office and relevant software including AutoCAD with some working knowledge of other modelling software's, such as Revit, MicroStation and Civils 3D.

Flexibility for occasional periods working away from normal office location.

Knowledge of CADS-RC design and detailing software.

Experience of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) Highways Standards.

Ability to produce drawings containing BIM and 3D information (AECOsim, Civils 3D or Revit) knowledge of ProjectWise, Revit and MicroStation.
