successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop in a company committed to developing talent and rewarding performance.Role PurposeThe Electrical Quantity Surveyor with substation experience supports the commercial delivery of high voltage (HV) electrical projects, with a focus on substations, switchgear installations, and cable works. The role involves cost control, contract administration, valuation, and project financial management to ensure cost-effective project execution based from Glasgow.Electrical Quantity Surveyor ResponsibilitiesIn conjunction with your project team, you will be responsible for the execution of various stages of a project as follows:Undertake and manage interim commercial meetings with the Client and Internal Project Team. Report in detail as required for the Project Manager on the commercial status of the project.Manage subcontractor accounts, interim

valuations and final accounts. Ensure payment certificates are processed and payments are made per the agreed sub-contract and procurement terms. As a member of the commercial team, the Electrical Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with administering the contract obligations and meet additional Client requirements. Issue interim and final accounts and progress applications per project and contract requirements. Monthly applications to be all inclusive of accurate remeasures, site changes, dayworks and any applicable contract claims. Ability to identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to Senior Management. Have a practical understanding of scheduling and the associated commercial implications. The Electrical Quantity

Surveyor will be capable of costing and agreeing daily work changes to include managing the subcontractor remeasurement of contract works, site dayworks and site change orders.Maintain accurate records and provide necessary detailed backup to support commercial tracking and costing.Set an example of enthusiasm, loyalty and hard work in the performance of all duties.Necessary requirement of the Electrical Quantity Surveyor3rd level qualification in Construction Economics / Quantity Surveying ideally coupled with a technical background as either Electrician/Instrumentation Technician (or similar) or Electrical Engineer but not wholly necessaryPrior work

placement experience would be advantageousProficient in excel.Knowledge of contract conditions and their applicationsExcellent Communication/Interpersonal SkillsExcellent Record Keeping and Administration SkillsDesired Competencies / special role requirementsUnderstand contract obligations and any other undertakings to the client and the structure and form of interim and final claims.Ensure that claims are then formulated in line with these constraints.Ensure that claims issued are comprehensive in that all work undertaken has been included under the appropriate categorization, i.e. day works, unit rate work, contract work.
