Procurement and Supply Chain Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Administrator to join our Orthotic and Prosthetic Service. This role is essential in ensuring clinicians and technicians have timely access to the equipment, components and consumables needed to deliver high-quality patient care. You will support procurement and stock management processes, including raising purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, processing deliveries, maintaining accurate records and liaising with suppliers. Working closely with clinical and technical teams, you will help ensure supplies are available when needed and that the stores environment remains safe, organised and compliant.
Experience in administration, procurement, stock control or logistics is desirable.

Support clinicians and technicians by delivering an efficient procurement and stock management service.
Raise purchase orders and process procurement requests for orthotic and prosthetic products.
Monitor stock levels and ensure the timely replenishment of consumables and clinical supplies.
Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, pricing, deliveries, lead times, and product returns.
Match patient-specific items to clinical records and coordinate their distribution for appointments or collection.
Maintain up-to-date inventory records using Meditech and Kardex systems.
Assist with stock takes, stock reconciliation, and inventory reporting.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control, COSHH, fire safety, health and safety, and storage requirements.
Support the maintenance of supply chain systems and stores equipment.
Maintain procurement records and documentation in line with Trust policies and Standing Financial Instructions.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to service improvements, policy development, and procedural reviews.

Knowledge of stock control and procurement gained through experience of working in areas with supply chain functions.
Knowledge of common IT programmes including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to communicate materials management and procurement issues with staff and suppliers
